Our Story

The De Costi passion for fresh seafood started with husband and wife duo, George and Andrea Costi in 1974. The two would trade seafood at the Sydney food institution which is Paddy's Market, and this weekend passion led to the establishment of the De Costi brand in 1981. Operations were housed from the Sydney Fish Markets in Pyrmont, where the founding store still remains today.

Over this 35 year journey, the company's mission has been to provide Australians with a diverse and delicious variety of seafood, with an uncompromising passion for quality.

Recently the De Costi Seafoods business was effectively acquired by Tassal who are leaders in producing Atlantic Salmon in Australia. The acquisition was a natural fit, as Tassal are a company who like De Costi Seafood's, strive to achieve operational excellence, while protecting their core values around quality, community and the environment.
